PROFOUND MOVEMENT FOUNDER
My name is Megan Tahan and I am a Human Resources Professional, and yoga and fitness instructor. I graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Management. My special interest in Leadership Development was expanded as I earned my Professional Certificate in Human Resources from Rutgers. My experience in the private and public sector revealed the need for people to find balance in their lives and gain the tools to destress. As a Human Resources Consultant, my goal is to help people find better ways to communicate, focusing on problem solving and managing conflict. I am a certified DISC facilitator providing a simple technique to help people analyze their communication tendencies and tailor their response to be harmonious with different personality types. I am also trained specifically in “ReDISCovering Conflict”, which focuses primarily on conflict management, using the DISC styles.
Mindful Movement is an integral practice offered by Profound Movement in which I found interest due to its accessibility. I was trained by corporate mindfulness expert and MindFresh founder, Jen Kluczkowski as one of a few hand-selected, international teachers trained in this unique approach to corporate mindfulness.
This approach ties everything together between the professional world, and health and wellness world, which to me, are one and the same.
I facilitate sessions for groups of all sizes to experience simple mindful movements that anyone can do in any environment, even standing or sitting in a chair at work. Profound Movement’s Mindful Movement practice also incorporates a breathwork and meditation component that is proven to lower stress levels, refocus your employees (and you), and increase confidence by improving posture, body language and inner dialogue (the key to a positive mindset). The accessibility and effectiveness of this practice is why I recommend leading all sessions with Mindful Movement.
I have completed over 200 hours of training including RYT-200 Yoga Alliance training and am certified in several styles of yoga and fitness, including Hatha yoga, Vinyasa yoga, yoga fusion, barre, and megaformer pilates. As William Cowper once said, “Variety is the spice of life that gives it all its flavor.” My goal in the fitness realm is to find what works best for each person I work with and help them achieve their health and wellness goals. I understand that fitness is never “one size fits all” and that a healthy way of life has to be sustainable for it to actually become a healthy LIFESTYLE, especially for those in the busy corporate world!
